Charcoal and pastel on paper
The concept behind my final project is to remember the “ghosts” of crowds that used to roam spaces and places around Singapore. I remember Singapore to be a dense and lively city; everywhere you go, there are people. Being in the midst of all these people was what I remember home to feel like. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the places that used to be bustling with life are now empty.
In this series of drawings, I want to capture the life and energy in spaces in Singapore, like how I remember them to be before I left for college. So much has changed in such a short period of time. I seem to have forgotten what it feels like to be in the middle of a crowd.
