Hello!

My name is Jocelyn, and I am an illustrator, designer, and art educator based in Singapore. I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) with a BFA (honors) in Illustration and Nature-Culture-Sustainability-Studies as well as an MA in Art and Design Education. I am passionate about sharing stories rooted in nature and culture through my art. Stories and art have shaped my life for as long as I can remember, and they continue to guide the way I see and understand the world.

Before becoming a full-time illustrator, I spent a year and a half teaching preschool art. Working closely with little ones helped me understand how they observe, question, and imagine the world — their unique perspectives continue to influence the whimsy and playfulness in my creative practice.

My practice centers on illustration, but sometimes I also enjoy exploring other forms of visual storytelling, including book cover design, editorial art, comics, and toy/game design. Beyond personal and client work, I create and sell merchandise of my artwork at art fairs, such as apparel, prints, zines, stickers, and occasional handmade crafts (online store coming soon!)

When I’m not at my desk drawing, you can usually find me playing with my dog Mocha, catching up with friends over ice cream, traveling, or attending a concert.
